Clean Drinking Water

Clean Water For Las Lagunas This young man helped install the clean water system, and now he enjoys taking the first drink of clean water - a first for this community.

Nothing changes a community like providing a source of clean water for the first time. It creates a transformation.

The clean water system will prevent the deaths of 45% of children under five years of age. The entire community will become healthier.

Clean water also has the power to stop the cycle of poverty. For the first time, children become eager to learn while men and women are able to work to produce an income and more food. Every member of the community can envision a better future and begin working toward it.

Giving clean water to a poverty stricken community is like giving a blood transfusion to a dying man. Water means new potential, new hope for a better tomorrow, and a new life.

When the water is unsafe to drink, the entire community suffers. Sick children lack the energy to learn. Sick men lack the energy to work. Poverty continues.

In most Central American and African communities, the women and children are responsible for locating and transporting water. Fulfilling this daily responsibility leaves no time for women to pursue work opportunities or for the young to go to school. Poverty continues. Clean water can help overcome poverty. Will you help?
